Where shall I begin? If you were to choose your own name what would it be? There is a story told that I once was to be Tina Marie. No, not after the singer/songwriter with one hit wonder Lovergirl. I entered this world before her hit. When I decided I needed a pseudonym for a dual writing career, I didn’t take it lightly. I wrote many possibilities with variations of my real name as well as those of family members.

When my guy suggested Charlie it was a definite yes moment. I’m not certain if it’s because I grew up in the era of Charlie’s Angels or what, but I’ve always liked the name Charlie and had often wished I was a Charlie.

And now I can be.

Interestingly, I did not know the meanings of the names I chosen until just now, only moments ago as I started writing this page. As I wrote down the names with their meanings, I couldn’t help but smile.

The name in its entirety, like the lotus flower, signifies perseverance, life and strength through adversity.

I am free. I am strong. I am joyful.
